Safe Food Handler 2.6

SAFE FOOD HANDLER is an ANSI-ANAB accredited program (Accreditation ID 1243) created by Cogneti LLC.

The certification cards and certificates provided through this program are recognized by several state and local authorities including California, Illinois, Arizona, West Virginia, Texas, New Mexico, and Hawaii.

Upon completion of the program, participants will acquire knowledge and skills related to:

• Foodborne illness
• Time/temperature control for safety
• Employee hygiene
• Receiving food products
• Storing food products
• Preparing and serving food
• Cleaning and sanitizing

The SAFE FOOD HANDLER program covers the principles outlined in the 2017 FDA Food Code, related supplements, and industry best practices.

To enroll in the Safe Food Handler Certificate Program, you need:

• A valid email address for registration and authentication purposes.
• A $15 license fee for full program access (Levels 1 & 2 offer a free trial).
• Approximately two hours of study time to complete learning modules, quizzes, and the final exam.
• Ability to navigate the self-guided program with unlimited exam attempts, available in English only.

All levels of the program must be finished in sequential order without partial completion or credit for prior experience. The steps include downloading and registering on the Safe Food Handler app, progressing through seven levels of instruction using the LEARN function, completing quizzes for each level, attempting the final exam, achieving a minimum passing score of 70%, and receiving a certificate valid for three years upon successful completion.

In case of exam failure, additional study on identified areas is required before attempting another exam. Refund requests are subject to review by Cogneti staff through the support feature on the mobile app. The program is solely merit-based without external influence or sponsorship.

The content of the program aligns with the 2017 FDA Food Code and its supplements to ensure relevance and accuracy.
